This permanent exhibition explores the lives of some of the people who lived and worked at Eastbury during the late 19th and early 20th century. William Weir, John Macgregor, Eleanor Whitbread and Bill Smith are reimagined through costume recreations- each with clues woven into the very fabric of their outfits.
The exhibition was developed alongside Costume Construction students at the University Centre of South Essex College, using traditional and more contemporary techniques in their creations. A brief history of each individual accompanies their costumes in this display.
