Eastbury egg competition!

Eastbury egg competition

As we are unable to host our usual Easter egg hunt due to Covid-19, we want to host a virtual Spring celebration and competition!

Our team has created an egg-cellent craft activity for you to do at home, with an easy tutorial to follow. Are you ready to get creative?

The deadline for Eastbury egg entries is Tuesday 6th April 2021, and the winner will be announced by Friday 9th April 2021. Get cracking!

How to take part

1. Simply use your imagination to create an egg-squisite egg by following our Eastbury egg tutorial (download below). Get creative! Use any materials, colours, patterns and drawings that you wish!

2. Find a Spring-tastic location for your egg, and take a photo. This could be anywhere you'd like; a local park, your favourite spot in your neighbourhood, or in your living room!

3. Post your photo to Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. Tag us and use the hashtag #eastburyegg to enter the competition!

The prize

The winner will receive a free family ticket to an upcoming performance by The Three Inch Fools in our Walled Garden.

The Three Inch Fools are a troupe of actors, performing a highly imaginative and vibrantly musical take on Shakespeare's plays across the UK. The Fools do Shakespeare differently - a fast-paced, musically-driven style, using all sorts of different instruments, plenty of multi-roling and many a quick costume change along the way.

The Three Inch Fools have been rehearsing and performing their productions at Eastbury since 2017 and have put on some amazing productions including Macbeth, Much Ado About Nothing and Hamlet.

Unfortunately their 2020 performances at Eastbury were cancelled due to Covid-19, but (restrictions permitting) we are hoping to welcome them back for an outdoor performance of Romeo and Juliet and The Merry Wives of Windsor in May 2021. Excitng details to come!

Covid-19

Eastbury continues to be closed following the government’s latest advice. Together with the Council and the National Trust, we’re continuing to prepare plans for how Eastbury can safely reopen.

Given the Government roadmap outlined on 22nd February 2021, we are now provisionally planning for a reopening date of May 2021. This has not yet been confirmed and will rely on ensuring we can safely reopen in line with the government guidelines this Spring.

The safety of our visitors, volunteers and staff is paramount. It is likely that when we reopen there will be several Health and Safety measures in place, including PPE, and a booking system to allow visitors to socially distance.

If the planned performances by The Three Inch Fools are unable to go ahead safely due to Covid-19 restrictions, the competition winner will be awarded tickets to an alternative Eastbury event once we can safely reopen.
